A trip to France in 1996 finally clinched a life-long fascination with stained glass, motivating me to learn the art form. Since then, I've had the good fortune to study the works of Louis Comfort Tiffany, John LaFarge, Frank Lloyd Wright and others to understand their design and construction techniques.

Many of my glassworks are derived from medieval traceries of 12th and 13th century cathedrals. In 2001, I toured several cathedrals and castles throughout England and France, including a visit to Le Centre International du Vitrail (The International Centre for Stained-Glass Art) in Chartres.

As I fell in love with the stained glass of France, it seemed only appropriate to name my studio Fleur-de-lis Stained Glassworks.

Most of my commissions are custom-designed windows, doors and cabinetry for private homes. I prefer using glass by the Uroboros Glass Company in Portland , Ore., and the Kokomo Glass Company of Kokomo, Indiana — the first because of their dedication to reproducing Tiffany-style glass, the latter because they are the oldest glassmakers in the U.S. and provided glass for Tiffany, Lafarge and Wright.
